OBJECTIVE BIOLOGICAL AGE – UNIQUE TELOMERE LENGTH MEASUREMENT

What are telomeres, and why are they so important?

Telomeres are protective caps at the ends of our chromosomes. They provide stability during cell division and protect our DNA. Replication and cell division take place continuously in every organism. The information encoded in our DNA is copied. As our cells divide, our bodies age. Scientists have made an important discovery: with every cell division, the ends of our chromosomes—the telomeres—also become shorter.

Telomeres are key biomarkers that allow us to determine a person’s biological age and overall state of health accurately.

Scientists have demonstrated that excessively short telomeres accelerate cellular ageing and are associated with serious conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, infertility, neurodegenerative processes, and certain cancers and infectious diseases.

Telomere length is strongly influenced by our lifestyle and diet, as well as by stress, heredity and environmental factors.

By measuring telomere length, we determine the body’s actual biological age. Telomere length analysis reveals the relationship between chronological and biological age, which can differ by 15–20 years in some cases! Advice from our specialists will help you monitor processes in your body and slow ageing.

For this reason, we recommend combining telomere length testing with an ALCAT test aimed at identifying food intolerance and oxidative stress. The results of these analyses allow us to develop an individual programme to improve your health and rejuvenate your body.

We recommend regular telomere length testing once a year to monitor processes within the body and optimise treatment.

WHAT MAKES LIFE LENGTH TECHNOLOGY UNIQUE

Our A2C Clinic works with Life Length, the only company in the world with patented HT Q-FISH and Telomapping technology for determining and measuring telomere length within cell nuclei. The Life Length test took five years to develop, with investment exceeding US$20 million.

Leading scientists in telomere research contributed to the development of this diagnostic technology: Dr María Blasco, Dr Jerry Shay, Dr Sandy Shand, Dr Kathleen Collins, Dr William Andrews and Dr Mark Rosenberg.

TELOMERE ANALYSIS TECHNOLOGY

Telomere length is measured using blood samples after an anonymous questionnaire has been completed. The technology for analysing and measuring telomere length was proposed by Dr María Blasco, Director of the renowned Spanish National Cancer Research Centre.

This test, developed by Dr Blasco, is used by scientists and doctors around the world for preventive medical examinations. It is also used in biotechnology, the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetology, nutraceuticals and scientific research.

We are proud that A2C Clinic is an exclusive partner of Life Length.
