MEDICINE AGAINST AGING – Statuss

An interview with Dr. Monika Golková, founder and head physician of the A2C clinic and the only certified specialist in anti-aging medicine in the Czech Republic.

What is the magic of anti-aging medicine?

Calling it magic is something of an exaggeration, because this is a scientific and practical discipline that draws on the latest research into human lifespan to offer comprehensive rejuvenation programs for all age groups. In short, anti-aging medicine seeks to improve the quality and length of every person's life. This new field of medicine is developing very rapidly. As the only certified anti-aging clinic, A2C works with specialized laboratories around the world.

“Rather than treating disease, we should try to prevent it in time.” You have successfully put this motto into practice. Who is the A2C clinic intended for?

The A2C clinic is for everyone who values their health and wants to preserve it for as long as possible. Our clients are most often businesspeople, senior executives, and people who want to achieve better results in life, which requires excellent health and a high level of vitality. Ideally, people would come to us while they are healthy. We can then use a thorough examination, including genetic testing, to recommend specific programs for preventing possible diseases.

Could you tell us more about the A2C clinics in Prague and Karlovy Vary?

The A2C clinic in Prague is the first and only certified anti-aging medicine clinic in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 2008, two branches opened in Karlovy Vary, at the Carlsbad Plaza and Imperial hotels. All A2C clinics meet the highest professional standards, and similar diagnostic methods are also used at exclusive clinics abroad. Before treatment can be prescribed, a client needs to undergo a series of examinations. Among the most essential in these unsettled times are testing brain neuromediators, or neurotransmitters, and resetting brain function, as well as measuring the biological age of organs, testing for food intolerance, and providing appropriate dietary recommendations. A detailed hormone analysis, followed by recommendations on the use of bioidentical hormones, is also important. Genetic testing has proved an effective way to identify diseases encoded in our genes and develop the right strategy to prevent them. One of the latest developments in genetics is nutrigenetics, which can identify optimal dietary choices and is primarily intended for people seeking a healthy diet and lifestyle.

You have written two books on ways to combat aging and know exactly how to preserve youth and beauty. You yourself are the best proof that anti-aging medicine works. What would you recommend to our readers?

Prolonging youth and preserving health are in your hands. Only you decide whether you need a premature myocardial infarction or problems with excess weight, migraines, or hormonal disorders. By following the principles of anti-aging medicine, you will achieve excellent results. Our work cannot produce an instant effect, but as you get older, you will look and feel better.

You are a member of the prestigious scientific committee of the World Society of Anti-Aging Medicine (WOSAAM), and you are now preparing to attend the world congress on anti-aging medicine in Monaco. What are the global trends in the development of this field?

Anti-aging medicine is one of the fastest-growing medical fields, with new discoveries and results arriving almost every day. The world congress on anti-aging medicine in Monaco is intended to address the comprehensive management of the body's aging processes. It will present the latest findings on brain neurotransmitter testing and technologies for using stem cells, which have excellent prospects for the future.
