Symptoms of food intolerance according to MUDr. Monika Golková

Fatigue - Total fatigue up to chronic fatigue syndrome may result from long-term food intolerances. If we consume food that is harmful to our body, there is a multiplicity of chemical factors that burden our body and cause fatigue. The problem is caused by an activation of the immune system by food, and cytokines are excluded which are stress mediators that one feels as fatigue. All the energy in the body focuses on the healing of the problem. If the immune system is inadequate for long periods, it means increased demands on the adrenal glands which such activation can exhaust.

Depression or low mood - serotonin, one of the important neurotransmitters, is also used in the intestines. It is used as a signalling molecule between immune cells. A disorder in the digestive tract can cause a significant decrease - and consequently mood swings, depression and also hunger.

Eczema - atopic eczema is an allergic reaction of the organism in the form of specific antibodies. In this case, histamine plays a major role and causes itching, increased capillary permeability and redness ... Some foods cause rashes and eczema by activating some blood cells.

Obesity - Some cell mediators block insulin receptors, insulin insensitivity subsequently appears, and the pancreas produces higher insulin levels; but as the problem persists, blood sugar increases and further subcutaneous fat deposition occurs due to the effect of insulin on the increased production of subcutaneous fat

Decreased thyroid function - antigens against individual foods come into the circulation system and it may not only happen that they create antibodies against food but also cross-react with individual thyroid cells and cause autoimmune reactions.
